We are situated in the heart of the Blackmore Vale in Dorset, which means from the comfort of your shepherd’s hut or as you relax beside the campfire you are blessed with stunning views across the fields beyond.
On foot
We are the perfect base for a hiking trip as there are a number of fantastic country trails that you can join, taking you across the Blackmore Vale, like the North Dorset Trailway or a walk around the Iron Age hill forts of Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill.
It is also just a half hour walk to the nearby village where you can visit the local pub, and the village shop where you can stock up on those essentials to enjoy back at your hut.
In the car
If you hop into your car, we are less than a ten-minute drive away from Sturminster Newton which has two craft shops, its own working mill, cafes, pubs, a bakery and deli, so is well worth a visit during your stay. There are also two small supermarkets within a ten-minute drive of our huts, meaning you can easily stock up on essential supplies
If you’d like to venture slightly further in your car, the well-known destinations of Shaftesbury, Salisbury, Dorchester, Sherborne and Swanage are not too far away either.
